My apologies, muse 'o mine. It is many months past your naming and still you've not learned the story behind your name. This is because there isn't a proper story. Just a sentence: you were named Muppet after that old cartoon, Muppet Babies.
And just so we're clear, the consequence of this is that every time I say your name or think your name or hear about muses in general... the Muppet Babies theme song starts playing in my head. Thanks a lot, Muppet.
Now that I think of it, I don't remember much about this cartoon. I do remember Nanny's socks, though. And Gonzo. And an episode about Snow White. Which made me think about fairy tales. Which made me think about Rumplestiltskin. Which made me think about this book I wanted to write about this girl named Adele. Which made me think about working 3rd shift at Shell and teenagers and skittles vodka. (There isn't even an interesting story behind that, can you believe it?)
